-For today’s prophecy update, I sense from the Holy Spirit that I need to talk about some strange things that are happening in the Middle East. -By strange I mean there are some very peculiar things that are seemingly taking place, some of which have gone undetected under the radar. -What I find most interesting is this common denominator in all the happenings, in that they all center on Israel, and her eternal city of Jerusalem.

-What follows are three of these strange happenings, and please know that this is neither exhaustive nor is it presented in any particular order.

1. What’s happening with Pakistan seems strange

This past Thursday, on June 7th, Reuters published a story with the headline, “U.S. losing patience with Pakistan, says Panetta” Listen to this excerpt from the article. “Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said on Thursday the United States was reaching the limits of its patience with Pakistan because of the safe havens the country offered to insurgents in neighboring Afghanistan.” The article goes on to say, quote; “Anti-American feelings runs deep over issues like drones, and with a general election expected in early 2013, no politician will want to be seen as soft on the Americans. In addition to this, on Wednesday of last week, there was this breaking news about U.S. intelligence leaks, the likes of which, according to Senator Dianne Feinstein, which in and of itself is rather strange, was interviewed by CNN's Wolf Blitzer, in which she vented her frustration over the national security leaks that may become the focus of a Senate investigation, here are a couple of quotes from that interview; “What we're seeing...is an avalanche of leaks. And it's very, very disturbing. You know, it's dismayed our allies. It puts American lives in jeopardy. It puts our nation's security in jeopardy … The bipartisan leaders of the intelligence panels from the House and Senate have scheduled an unusual joint news conference Thursday afternoon to address growing anger and concern in Congress about a series of news accounts in recent weeks that have contained details about sensitive U.S. efforts to undermine Iran's nuclear program and to infiltrate terrorist networks. http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/06/sen-feinstein-on-the-avalanche-of-leaks-125550.html

-At the risk of sounding sensational and provocative, I believe that this is very telling related to what’s going on behind the geopolitical scenes. -I’m of the belief that these recent and unusual developments may very well be with the stroke of a pen that which brings us closer to Ezekiel 38. -Here’s how I get there, It’s very possible that Pakistan could be in the alliance of nations with Russia and Iran along with the Stan’s attack Israel.

-It’s important to know that Pakistan presently has more Al Qaida training camps within its borders, than does any other country in the world. -Furthermore, in a post Osama bin Laden world, Pakistan still possesses nuclear weapons and the much needed long range delivery systems. -Also, Pakistan has assisted North Korea and Iran to develop their nuclear programs as they produce more terrorists under the banner of Jihad.

2. What’s happening with Syria seems strange

-For students of Bible prophecy it’s for the most part, a forgone conclusion that the prophecy concerning Syria in Isaiah 17 is about to be fulfilled. -Sadly, what gets lost in the Syria situation is that thousands of Syrian people have lost their lives as a result of what is happening in that country. -What’s strange about the happenings in Syria is that it seems to be a catalyst of sorts in completely changing the dynamic in the Middle East.

This is evidenced by the breaking news alert on Fox News, of all places, that showed a map of the entire Syria region of the Middle East with every country on the map, except for Israel. Every country is named on the map even a new country, according to Fox News, called Gaza. By the way, it’s been noted that a Saudi Prince, because he is a large shareholder of Fox News, has seemingly wielded an undue influence on the network as seen here with what I believe demonstrates a disenfranchising of the Fox News Channel from the nation of Israel. http://landing.newsinc.com/shared/video.html?freewheel=91074&sitesection=breitbartprivate&VID=23633445

-We do err greatly in our failure to see how that the entire world and the world media with it will be against Israel in the last days as was foretold. -Not only will there be this disconnect by the world related to Israel, there will also be this connect by the world related to being against Israel. -This dovetails into our third strange happening with respect to the upcoming presidential elections here at home in the United States of America.

3. What’s happening with the Presidential elections seems strange

-Is it just me, or is this election year really weird? I’m not the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer but something strange seems to be happening. -Here’s what I’m thinking, there’s so much confusion about what’s really going on, that neither candidate is actually seen as being the answer. -The reason I think this is strange, and it’s the same reason that I point this out, is that this year’s election makes the leadership vacuum larger.

-Actually, this shouldn’t come as any surprise because it would stand to reason that the world would have to be readied for the final world ruler. -Conversely, on the other side of this table, so too would it stand to reason that the bride would have to be readied for her bridegroom to come. -If you’re asking yourself how I’m going to tie this all together with our upcoming Presidential elections, you need wonder no more, here’s why:

-We as Christians don’t have a very good track record when it comes to the electoral process by virtue of how we place our hope in a candidate. -Please don’t misunderstand me. I am in no way advocating that we should not participate in the political process, for that is our moral obligation. -However, to have this notion that somehow getting “our man” in office will bring “hope” and “change,” is naïve at best, and deceptive at worst.

-The truth of the matter is that eternal hope and change will only come, not when “our man” is in office, but when the “God-man” is on His throne. -Only when the Lord of lords, and the King of kings, and the Prince of peace is reigning in His kingdom will we ever drink from that kind of cup. -I’ll close today’s update by simply saying this; that which we see happening in this world, as strange as it is, should loosen our grip on this world.

-When we loosen our grip on this lost world, it frees us up to seize the amazing opportunity to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost world. -Could it be God’s design that we can’t have hope in this world in order to leave us with no other alternative but to put our hope in the next world? -Perhaps you’ve heard it said that while we can never know what the future holds, we can always know with a certainty Who holds the future.
