-I had considerable difficulty finding anything prophetic to talk about for today’s prophecy update, given that it was a very uneventful week. -Actually, for the benefit of those who weren’t here for our Thursday night Bible study we did a pre-prophecy update in light of recent events. -I must say, that with everything that’s happening in the Middle East, I really didn’t know where to start, so bare with me as I try to sort it out.

-I’ll begin with what I’ll call a “Headline Timeline,” so as to lay a foundation of sorts, and in so doing I’ll paint the canvass with a broad brush. -In other words we’ll look first at the bigger picture of what happened in the Middle East this last week then seek to fill in some of the details. -What we’ll do is start with Monday of last week then work our way to today by virtue of how everything is now moving at break neck speed.

-All these headlines point to Isaiah 17, Psalms 83, Isaiah 19, Zechariah 12, Daniel 9:27, Revelation 13 and Ezekiel 38 just to mention a few. -It’s evidenced by these anti-American protests bringing U.S. embassies under siege in what Joel Rosenberg describes as the “Epicenter.” -It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is exactly what the prophets of old had foretold, as it relates to these, the end of days.

-I just about can’t watch one more news report where so-called experts pontificate about how this all has to do with the politics in the region. -The fact of the matter is this is all about religion namely, the religion of Islam who sees America as the great Satan Israel as the little Satan. -You’ll forgive my sanctified cynicism, but what part of Holy War, aka, Jihad do these people not understand. Consider what Islam teaches:

Quran 4:89: “…seize them (infidels) and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.” Quran 2:191: “… kill the disbelievers wherever we find them …” Quran 8:12: “Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.’” Quran 8:59: “The infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah’s enemy.” Quran 9.29″ “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book… Quran 47:4: “Strike off the heads of the disbelievers” and, after making a “wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives.” Quran 9:5: “When the sacred forbidden months for fighting are past, fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them, and lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

-Suffice it to say a full on Jihad or Holy War has been waged against both America and Israel, in obedience to the commands in the Qur’an. -What’s different this time as compared to times past is America has been so weakened that the goal of Islamic domination can be realized. -By the way, the name is the nature, and with Islam, it is certainly no exception, for the meaning of the word Islam is “submission by force.”

-Be that as it may, I’ll bring the update today, in for a landing this way; “how does what’s happening in the Middle East affect us in Hawaii? -Perhaps better asked, what does all of this mean to me in my world as I struggle to make ends meet, just to keep my head above water?

-Well, on this, the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Feast of Trumpets, all of this has everything to do with us here in Hawaii. -Here’s how I get there, for those of us who are privy to, and savvy about Bible prophecy, this particular feast puts us on high rapture alert. -While we don’t have time to discuss the prophetic significance of the feasts, you should know Jesus has fulfilled all prior feasts here-to-fore.

-This begs the question of whether or not the rapture could take place during this years Feast of Trumpets, to which I would answer; “yes!” -What if it doesn’t? does that mean it can’t happen until next years Feast of Trumpets? No, that would dismantle the doctrine of imminence. -Well how does what’s happening now affect me here and now? Now like never before we must get our affairs in order before it’s too late.

Romans 13:11-12 NIV And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. (12) The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
