Farag pastorjd@calvarychapelkaneohe.com *In 1962, JD, then named Wahid Faiez Farag, was born in Beirut Lebanon to a "Palestinian" mother and an "Egyptian" father. The family moved to the United States when he was just about a year old. In 1982, twenty years later, JD (JD being his nick name meaning "Jesus' Disciple"), was born again in Spokane Washington at about the same time that Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa was planting a church in that city. In 1989, seven years later, JD married Kellie Linn, a Kailua girl he met at Calvary Chapel Spokane two years earlier. In 1992, JD started a business in the community and served as an Elder on the board of directors, and a Lay Pastor at Calvary Chapel Spokane. In 1999, the business was sold and JD was sent out from Calvary Chapel Spokane, to plant a Calvary Chapel in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. In 2004, five years later, Pastor JD moved his family of four, (wife Kellie, Son Elias and Son Levi) to the Island of Oahu to plant another Calvary Chapel in Kaneohe. In 2005, JD ad Kellie became a family of five with the birth of Noelle Kapua Farag. In the eighth month of pregnancy, Noelle was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a fatal chromosome abnormality, and was given only a 10% chance of surviving to her first birthday. In 2006* at four months of age, Noelle died at Kapiolani Hospital in JD and Kellie's arms and went to be with Jesus. Noelle joined her siblings in heaven, as JD and Kellie had lost three other babies during a period of ten years in which they were infertile and unable to have children. *Today* Pastor JD Farag resides on the Windward side of Oahu, and is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Kaneohe.
